Scarlet Tanager - A bright red and black  Scarlet Tanager on a branch of spring blossoms with a reddish-brown background.  This realistic painting was inspired by the many bird visitors to our backyard habitat including the Summer Tanager which replaces the Scarlet Tanager in the southern U.S. I chose to paint the tanager with the brighter colors.  It was created on a quality canvas panel using professional grade oils.  A spray varnish was used to enhance and preserve the vibrant oil colors.

NOTE: This painting would make a nice matching pair with "Meadowlark" as they are the same style, have the same frame and colors coordinate well.
