Northern Flicker - A mother flicker and her hatchlings nesting in a hollowed out tree. This realistic painting was inspired by the many birds that visit our backyard habitat - including the colorful and loud calling flicker.  It was created on a premium hardboard panel using professional grade oils.  A spray varnish was used to enhance and preserve the vibrant oil colors.
