Hickory Nut Falls - Hickory Nut Falls in Chimney Rock Park, North Carolina is one of the highest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River and flows on Fall Creek through Hickory Nut Gorge.  National attention came to the falls and park when it was featured in the 1992 film, The Last of The Mohicans.  This painting was inspired from a photo taken on a visit to the park in autumn.  This colorful landscape painting was created on a hardboard panel using professional grade acrylics.  A spray varnish was used to enhance and preserve the vibrant oil colors.
